The International Business Forum (IBF) is an independent, non-profit organisation that was established at the end of 2007 to provide a platform for senior members of international companies to meet, share experiences, and actively look for opportunities to do business together.

Since its formation, the IBF has attracted some of the Czech Republic’s biggest foreign investors to its Patronage, and includes on its Board, and amongst its members, many of the most respected business people in the Czech Republic.

The IBF positions itself as something that is very different to the many other associations and Chambers of Commerce that are operating in the country. For example, attendance at IBF events is limited to only the named representative(s) of a member company (who must be of senior management level or director), thereby ensuring that people attending its events are decision-makers or similar – and, of course, topics for seminars and speakers are chosen accordingly.

Music WorkshopMembership of the IBF is also restricted, with new members having to go through a selection process, which starts with the need for them to be put forward by an existing member. Having been accepted, however, members can look forward to being invited to at least one breakfast seminar and one speaker dinner or similar every month, as well as a number of workshops, seminars, networking functions, roundtable discussions and special events that are aimed at actively building business between members.

The IBF actively promotes its members, both to each other and to the outside world, through networking opportunities and advertising and promotional activities. It aims to identify business prospects for its members by being the first to hear of new companies entering the market, and, with its wide-reaching and extensive network of contacts, it will actively assist members in situations where lobbying is required, or the ‘opening of doors’ will help.

The IBF also recognizes the need to keep its members, and employees of member companies, up-to-date with local legislation and business information, as well as to serve an educational purpose through its regular training seminars and workshops and, more specifically, through its mentoring programme.

aboutus-picWhilst the IBF is first and foremost about business, it also realizes that the best working relationships are formed through social contact and by organizing high quality events on a regular basis, and it therefore puts particular emphasis on its invitation list, guest speakers and entertainment selection. Through such a mix, the IBF guarantees that its members and their guests will continue the tradition of raising a glass to the next good business deal!

The IBF has very specific aims:

•   To promote best working practices
•   To cement business relationships
•   To encourage all members to follow due legal processes
•   To require that all of its members follow a proper ethical practice
•   To identify and facilitate business opportunities for and between all of its members.
